Amar y Temer

During the 50’s, being a woman was a difficult burden to carry. It was a time when women were repressed, men got all the opportunities and marriage was an imposition. It was a time when to love was to fear. Alicia Aragón, a leader in the feminist movement, dreams of changing this injustice and longs to go to the university, but she will be forced to marry Pascual Ordoñez, a ruthless leader of the conservative party in their town and chief of the secret police. Things couldn’t be worse for Alicia; she will have to abandon her boyfriend with whom she had lost her virginity, and because she was “impure” on her wedding night, she will have to face her husband’s unending abuse. All this suffering will lead her to embark on an adventure where she will meet her true love: Simon Oviedo, a renowned boxer who accidentally kills his best friend in the ring and quits boxing out of remorse. For an entire year Alicia has to face the consequences for not being a virgin when she married, by suffering constant humiliation and being physically and mentally abused by her husband. . But one night, taking advantage that Pascual Ordoñez is out of town, Alicia stages her suicide and travels to Bogotá dressed as a man. Once in the city, Alicia adopts a new identity: Alberto Aragón. She enrolls in the Universidad Externado de Colombia as a law student and begins to achieve as a man everything that she wanted as a woman. The night that she is settling in to her room at the boarding house, she rescues a drunk fellow who had rolled down the stairs. To her surprise it is Simón, who was so drunk that he fell and split his head open. From that moment on the two “men” develop a friendship that would grow stronger every day. One day, Simón comes back to the boarding house earlier than expected and runs in to Alicia in Alberto’s room, forcing the latter to come up with the story that she is Magdalena, Alberto’s cousin. . Simón, captivated by Magdalena’s beauty, presses Alberto to set him up on a date which will unravel a forbidden love and Alicia will end up in a paradoxical situation as she becomes the sentimental advisor of the very man with whom she will slowly fall in love. However, when Alicia, “Alberto”, “Magdalena” and Simon finally think they have the situation under control, Pascual Ordoñez finds out that his wife never died. Now, with the certainty that his wife is alive, his blood boils like never before. How long will Alicia have to endure the price of following her dreams if she must love the man of her life in secret and hide for the rest of her life from her cruel husband?

Alla te espero

Rosa Maria and David have nothing in common: she has a strong Latin essence and David has a strong American customs, well, in fact half American, half Colombian. He was born in Colombia but raised in the United States. While family comes first to Rosa Maria, for David life is about working and making money. These two people could hardly fall in love, but for different reasons, they both arrive against their will at the same city and their lives begin to change radically, until they are connected in the midst of solitude and the deception from their previous partners; David’s couldn’t adapt to the country where his parents migrated years back, and Rosa Maria’s because his dream was to live in the United States and earn in dollars to escape the bad economic situation that they were going through.

David arrives to Colombia to be the manager of an apparel company, and Rosa Maria is given the opportunity to be his personal assistant, with one condition: that she wouldn’t have important family commitments in order to be available at all times. Because of the economic need she was in, she made the mistake of hiding her family. However, her good will, her charisma, and her joy, achieved a good acceptance and awoke David’s hidden side, that that he didn’t know he had or wanted to discover: his Latin side.

In the meantime, Alex, Rosa Maria’s husband, became Berenice’s right hand, a beautiful, captivating woman, but very dangerous: the head of an immigrant traffic network, a business that allows her to make lots of money and that has allowed Alex to wrongly achieve what he dreamed of: to have everything so that his family wasn’t missing anything. That is why he convinced Rosa Maria to travel with her son and begin a new life in New York. They travelled separately. The child arrived to his father’s arms, while Rosa Maria was deported because of Berenice’s fault, who found a way for authorities to discover that Rosa Maria was going to stay illegally in the country, because she wasn’t going to allow her plans with Alex go wrong.

Without hopes of returning to the United States, Rosa Maria asks Alex to return with Michael, but Alex is no longer willing to have the humble and simple life they had before. Rosa Maria does whatever she can to go the U.S. to get her son back, but it is hopeless because she isn’t granted the visa. After going through all the possibilities, she finds out about another: getting married for convenience. At that time she doesn’t have to make any effort to find an American man, because David has been falling in love with her little by little and proposes to her. Though David also conquered her heart, Rosa Maria cannot deny that what motivates her to accept the most is to get her son back. Already married and about to receive her passport, she decides to tell David the truth, but Alex returns and gets ahead of her.

How is Rosa Maria going to recover her son, if the only man that could help her is the same one that just got his heart broken by her?

Avenida Brasil

The plot follows the dramatic story of Rita (Mel Maia), a sweet young woman who struggles to recover part of the life her gold digger stepmother, Carminha (Adriana Esteves), took from her when she was only a child.

When Rita's father dies, prematurely, Carminha and her lover, Max (Marcello Novaes), send the young girl off to live in a landfill, so that she doesn’t stand in the way of their plan to get rich. There, she is subjected to child labor under the control of a deplorable man, named Nilo (José de Abreu). But, she is lucky enough to meet Batata (Bernardo Simões), a boy who becomes her best friend and true love. He takes her to live with other children, under the care of motherly Lucinda (Vera Holtz), in a house at the landfill. Fortunately, Rita is soon adopted and moves out of the country with a nice family who changes her name to Nina. Batata is adopted by Carminha and Tufão (Murilo Benicio) and they name him Jorginho.
Years later, unrecognizable and motivated by vengeance, Nina (Débora Falabella) promptly tracks down Carminha and surreptitiously infiltrates the family by becoming the personal chef of the stepmother that once shunned her. Eventually, she must face the bitter consequences of seeking revenge against those who hurt her the most. Vile Carminha has managed to lure and marry Tufão, a friendly, rich soccer player who is unaware of her lies and manipulations. They live with some of his loud and garish relatives in an unrefined suburban mansion and, underhandedly, she makes the evil Max her husband’s brother-in-law.

Together, Carminha and Max continue to carry out their sadistic plans to get ahead. Nina becomes so engrossed in her single-minded goal to inflict suffering and punishment on those who wronged her that her own happiness is jeopardized. Carminha and Nina have one thing in common: their earnest love for Jorginho (Cauã Reymond), who is Carminha's son and Nina's childhood sweetheart, Batata.

Nina must ultimately confront her past and decide how far she is willing to go to exact revenge on her wretched stepmother, realizing her choices could cost her the love of her life as well as her humanity.

Rafael Orozco

Rafa, was what his close friends called him, was destined to be one of those unforgettable people. From a very young age he had a very special talent for “Vallenato” music (a native Colombian rhythm), but he was also charming which made him irresistible to women. But Clara Cabello was different from the rest and from the first moment he met her he was captivated by her smile, her words and her eyes. Although many men would get in his way trying to win her heart, he knew that love would make his songs immortal and gave him no doubt that she would always be by his side on his path towards success. But the night of the 11th of June of 1992 his romantic voice was silenced forever. Nine gunshots where needed to end the life of the man that had moved the world through his unforgettable songs. Why was he killed?, Who killed him? These are the questions we still have. This production full of music, celebrations, love, happiness, beauty and tragedy will make everyone fall in love with a character that divided the history of “Vallenato” music.
