Series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There’s only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife. ---
Dracula is an upcoming British-American television drama that is expected to air on Sky Living and NBC produced by London based shingle Carnival Films. The show was created by Cole Haddon, and is a reimagining of the classic Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. Dan Knauf, creator of the HBO series Carnivàle, will serve as showrunner/head writer, working with Haddon.
The network announced the series in January 2012 with a straight-to-series commitment,and the series was later green-lit for 10 episodes in July 2012.Production of the series start in February/March 2013 in Budapest, with the series airing in the fall.
Haddon will direct the pilot episode. Other episodes will be directed by Andy Goddard (Downton Abbey, Law & Order: UK) and Steve Shill (Dexter, Law & Order: Criminal Intent).
